A conversation about what matters with the rising generation

About what matters, easily and casually. It was in just such a format that a meeting of the head of the administration of the Central Khurul, Geshe Yonten, with the students of this educational institution took place the other day at Elista School 15, in the settlement of Arshan, at which teachers and even parents were also present.

They talked about the upcoming national holiday ZUL. The clergyman was very pleased by the children's answers, as they know what this sacred day means for the Kalmyks, they know who the Lord of the Year is, how our ancestors reckoned their years, and what rituals are held on the eve of the holiday. Geshe Yonten spoke at length about which traditions have been preserved to this day, about what “Nas utdullhn” is and how important it is to extend the years. “The children's interest in this matter, their knowledge - all this is thanks to the teachers and parents, who understand how important it is to know and do all this. This meeting was very warm and heartfelt”, - Geshe Yonten noted in conversation with us.

On this day everyone gathered also took part in a short prayer service, turning to the Burkhans for the benefit of all living beings. The boys and girls - each one received a blessing and arshan from the monastic Sangha.
