A musical offering to the Three Jewels with the participation of 1000 musicians.
This year this unique project will be carried out for the fifth time. It will be bestowed on May 21, 2023. This was announced the day before at a briefing held within the walls of RIA Kalmykia by the head of the administration of the Central Khurul, Yonten-Gelung. Together with the chief conductor of the future free Orchestra, one of the organizers of this project, Savr Kataev, they answered all the questions of interest to the journalists.
“A great deal of preparatory work is now underway for our large-scale project. We discussed all the details with the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Tenzin Choydak (Mutul Ovyanov) and with the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia. If in 2015, when we first presented this project, there were 330 participants, now there are far more who wish to take part; we have ‘set our sights’ on 1000 musicians. These are professional artists, students of music schools, and ordinary residents alike,” Savr Kataev recounted in detail.
“This project is very important not only from a religious point of view and for the accumulation of good karma in the sacred month of Urs Sar, but also for the preservation and development of our Kalmyk culture, the popularization of our national instruments, and the involvement of the rising generation in such large-scale projects,” Yonten-Gelung particularly emphasized.
Active preparation is now underway both among the participants of the musical Offering and among the organizers of the project. We will see the result of this joint work on May 21, with the arrival of the sacred month of Urs Sar.
