A New Head of Administration Has Been Appointed at the Central Khurul
Getsul Tubten Tsultim (Badma Dordzhiev) has been appointed Head of the Administration of the Central Khurul.
This became known the day before. During a vote by the general assembly of the monastic Sangha, a new administrator of “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” was elected.
Tubten Tsultim is one of a cohort of young Kalmyk monks who studied at the largest monastery-university, Drepung Gomang. Three years ago he returned to his native republic. “The work of an administrator is a very responsible one; I will try to make every effort to ensure that my work is for the benefit of our Buddhist temple and for the benefit of our believers. Over the past 6 years, Yonten Gelung worked fruitfully in this post, without regard for his time or health, and he built good, kind relations not only within the republic but also far beyond its borders,” noted Gen Badma.
The monastic Sangha, led by the Shajin Lama Geshe Tenzin Choydak, thanks Yonten Gelung for the great work he has done. Despite the fact that, according to the Charter of the Centralized Religious Organization Kalmyk Central Buddhist Monastery “Geden Sheddup Choy Korling,” an administrator is elected for 3 years, Yonten Gelung served two consecutive terms.
We wish the newly elected Getsul Tubten Tsultim success in his new endeavor, so that everything he has envisioned may be realized🙏
