A press conference of the country's leading virtuoso, musician Vladimir Spivakov, was held at the Central Khurul

Today in Elista a grand cultural event took place - a concert by the state chamber orchestra “Moscow Virtuosi”, under the direction of the People's Artist of the USSR, conductor Vladimir Spivakov. This evening the audiobook by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, “Ethics for the New Millennium”, voiced by Vladimir Teodorovich, was presented to the Kalmyk audience.

Before the start of the concert, within the walls of the main temple of Kalmykia, a press conference of the maestro was held, in which the head of this project, the executive director of the Foundation for the Preservation and Development of Buddhist Culture “Ocean of Wisdom” Anatoly Dzhudzhiev, the orchestra soloist Anastasia Belukova, and the senior administrator of the Central Khurul Yonten-Gelung also took part.

The guests first of all told those gathered about how the work on the audiobook proceeded, how easily and accessibly it is written, and how simple it was to voice. “Despite the difficulties in my work schedule, Anatoly Dzhudzhiev and I
found time between concerts, found a suitable place to record, and worked. For me, this is a very important project. And I am proud and happy that I was entrusted with such a mission”, - the musician noted.

In his speech before the Kalmyk journalists, Anatoly Dzhudzhiev especially noted the role in this project of our talented composer Arkady Mandzhiev: “He inspired me… he dreamed of how we would invite the ‘Virtuosi’ to the republic, leave them alone with our audience, how we would present this book… I feel how he is invisibly present with us today…”. By the way, Arkady Naminovich's son - Mingiyan Mandzhiev made a film based on the last chapter of this book, which is called “The Plea”, and it was also presented to the residents of the steppe region the day before.

During the press conference, Yonten Lodoy Gelung explained to the participants that this project was carried out within the framework of the international campaign “Thank you, Dalai Lama!”, which is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of His Holiness. “Back then, in 2020, due to COVID restrictions, the event could not be held, but I think it is very relevant today”, - said Yonten-Gelung.

Concluding the conversation with the local media, the maestro Vladimir Spivakov especially emphasized that thanks to this book the world will become different: “It impressed me. In this book is my soul. And I am sure that those who listen to it or read it will find answers to many of their questions”.
