A ritual of consecrating stupas was held at the Central Khurul

Today, at “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni,” one of the stages of consecrating the stupas that will be positioned around the perimeter of the main Buddhist temple of Kalmykia took place. As of today, 95 of the 108 stupas have already been installed.

The monks consecrated everything necessary for the future placement in the remaining 13 holy monuments: mantras rolled up in a special way (zung), tsatsa, jewels, incense, the tree of life. Tomorrow morning the placement into the stupas of all the substances required by the canons will begin.

As the monk Ngawang Lodoy, who oversees all the work on installing the stupas, noted, this activity has not ceased for 9 years now: “The monastic Sangha, together with the believers, scrupulously and unhurriedly carries out the work of erecting these sacred monuments. It is gratifying to see the activity of the youth in this matter, who understand that everything is done for the benefit of all living beings.”

Incidentally, the installation of the stupas onto the gates of the Central Khurul itself will take place on July 12, Wednesday.
