A Solemn Procession with Traditional Buddhist Symbols
And we continue our photo report from the “Yangdrub” ritual.
A very vivid moment was the solemn procession. The participants, in elegant national costumes, lined up in a column and made a circumambulation around the temple, and then visited all the levels of the khurul. Each one loudly pronounced a yöräl — good wishes in the Kalmyk language, and in response the participants of the procession exclaimed: “Tiigthä!” (“May it be so!”)
