The Annual Tantric Rituals Have Been Completed in Kalmykia

And so the annual tantric rituals have come to a close. Today the “Tangrag Kanso” was held at the Central Khurul. A great prayer service, during which monks and the faithful gave thanks to all the Protectors of the Teaching of the Buddha, offered prayers to Mahakala, Okn Tengri, Erlg Nomin Khan, and Bayan Namsr for their patronage and support, for spiritual protection and help in all things.

Today the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia thanked everyone who took part in the tantric rituals. “It is very significant that lay people of all ages visited the khurul during these days. But it is far more important to observe the precepts left by the Great Buddha. For it is so simple: to cause no harm to other living beings, to be kind to all. May all the virtues that you have accumulated by taking part in these significant religious events multiply and bring benefit to a vast number of living beings,” the venerable Geshe Tenzin Choydak wished, addressing the faithful.

For both sessions in a row the monks recited prayers, praised and propitiated the Protectors of the Teaching, made various offerings to them, asking the Syakusn to grant all living beings a happy life. This ritual is of great importance to everyone; it multiplies happiness and bestows well-being, strengthening the profound connection with the deities.
