Any Feasible Help Matters

“I am very glad that I can help the khurul being built in my small homeland — in Ketchenery,” says ten-year-old Danara Burlykova. She came with her mother to take part in the volunteer work.

These days at the Central Khurul, volunteers are making zungs (specially rolled sheets with mantras) needed for placement inside the 7 stupas that will be located around the Ketchenery khurul. On the whole, the pace of construction of the Buddhist temple is good. One of the members of the organizing committee, Toktan Amunova, says that the work on the canonical part is also well organized. As of today, thanks to the volunteers, 3,000 noms have been rolled; another 4,500 need to be made.

“The residents of the Ketchenery District themselves are very active: both in raising funds and in collecting the substances needed for placement in the main Statue and in the stupas. But in any case, today any feasible help matters,” Toktan Batayevna appealed to the residents of the republic.

Every day 15–20 volunteers gather in the main Buddhist temple of Kalmykia. The more experienced ones show the nuances of the work to the newcomers. An atmosphere of kindness and well-being reigns here.
