An Appeal to Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom

Today the prayers of monks and the faithful were addressed to Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom. They asked for help in quickly mastering knowledge, developing memory and wit, and removing all obstacles on the path to new knowledge. Today, the main Buddhist temple of Kalmykia held a traditional prayer service for schoolchildren and students on the eve of the new academic year.

Many people know how the Buddha of Wisdom is depicted in thangkas. He is a youth of 16, holding in his right hand the flaming sword of wisdom, a symbol of cutting through ignorance, and in his left hand the stem of a blooming lotus, whose petals support the text of the “Prajnaparamita Sutra,” symbolizing the teaching of perfect wisdom.

The Dugan was overflowing, with crowds on the upper level - everyone asked for a successful year for themselves and their loved ones, so that the learning process would bring joy and inspiration.
