Archbishop Justinian of Elista and Kalmykia congratulated the Head of Kalmyk Buddhists on taking office
Today, a meeting between the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Tenzin Choydak and Archbishop Justinian of Elista and Kalmykia took place at “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni.”
The Archbishop congratulated the Head of Kalmyk Buddhists on taking the office of Shajin Lama and expressed the hope that their relationship, having stood the test of time, would only grow stronger and better: “When there is clarity in the soul, then there is clarity in one's actions and in relationships between people. I wish you the help of the divine powers in your new position.”
Geshe Tenzin Choydak thanked his Orthodox brothers for their attention and assured them that, as before, their relationship would always be kind, sincere, and friendly.
The meeting discussed matters of interreligious and interethnic peace in the steppe region, and the heads of the Orthodox and Buddhist communities also touched upon topical issues of public life.
