Ask the Dalai Lama a question

The administration of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” announces that on November 4 and 5, 2021, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama will grant a Teaching for Russians. Due to the difficult epidemiological situation, this year the spiritual leader's teachings will again take place online. The main theme of the teachings will be an explanation of Maitreya's fundamental treatise “The Ornament of Mahayana Sutras” (Mahayana-sutra-alamkara). According to Tibetan tradition, this work, which is part of the famous “Five Treatises of Maitreya,” was recorded by Arya Asanga in the Tushita heaven in the 4th century. The content of the treatise is very extensive, and it is important not only for its formulations of the general foundations of the Mahayana, but also because it laid the foundations of the philosophy of Vijnanavada-Yogachara-Chittamatra. The organizers of the teachings are traditionally the Buddhist Center “Rinpoche Bagsha” (Buryatia), the Central Khurul “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” (Kalmykia), the Association of Buddhists of Tuva (Tuva), and the Foundation for the Preservation of the Cultural and Philosophical Traditions of Tibetan Buddhism “Save Tibet” (Moscow). We also inform you that everyone who wishes has the opportunity to ask His Holiness a question. The question must be relevant to the listeners of the teaching and substantive. To do so, you must send your question to the email address: press@khurul.ru, indicating in the subject line of the letter “Question for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.” The most interesting question will be selected by a commission consisting of the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche and the administration of the Central Khurul. Questions should be sent by October 19 inclusive.
