At the Shajin Lama’s Request, the Prosecutor’s Office Launched an Inquiry
Throughout the day, the sale of bathroom and toilet goods bearing the image of the Buddha’s face at the Leroy Merlin hypermarket has been discussed on the Internet. This provoked indignation and outrage among the residents of our region.
The Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choydak, addressed the Republic’s Prosecutor’s Office on this matter today, with a request to conduct an appropriate inquiry. At a meeting with the Prosecutor of the Republic of Kalmykia, Vitaly Semenchenko, Geshe Tenzin Choydak noted that this incident had outraged the entire Buddhist community and all believers: “Unfortunately, as it turned out, these goods are also sold on all the well-known marketplaces and online stores. It is only regrettable that the people involved in such sales are unaware of the elementary foundations of traditional faiths.”
In turn, Vitaly Viktorovich assured that the Republic’s Prosecutor’s Office would look into the submitted request without delay and would make appropriate decisions
