Construction of Moscow's First Buddhist Temple “Tubden Shedubling” Nears Completion

The senior administrator of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia, Yonten-Gelung, took part in a prayer service at the Buddhist temple under construction in Moscow. As a reminder, in Otradnoye the construction of  Moscow's first Buddhist temple “Tubden Shedubling” is nearing completion.  On January 21, representatives of the Buddhist  clergy of Kalmykia, Buryatia, Tuva and

the Altai Republic performed a joint religious ritual dedicated to the  final stage  of construction.

In addition to followers of the Mahayana tradition, followers of the Theravada tradition were also  present at the ceremony. This event once again clearly demonstrated that the Buddhist Temple in the capital of our country should become a common home for Buddhists of all nationalities and schools of Buddhism. This is precisely what His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama wished for the Temple in Moscow when blessing this project. The official opening ceremony of the Temple in Otradnoye is scheduled for the spring of this year, after the full completion of construction work on connecting the utility systems and installing the finial on the Temple.
