Construction of a sand mandala has begun in Elista
A blessing for all sentient beings🙏
Today, work began on creating a sand mandala of the Medicine Buddha at the main Buddhist temple of Kalmykia. A delegation of monks from Drepung Gomang Monastery, led by the Venerable Gyumed Khentul Rinpoche, first held a short prayer service to mark the beginning of the construction of this Buddhist sacred object, and then, after consecrating the place where the future mandala would be built, set about their painstaking, multi-day work. Today they worked on the drawing of the future palace of the Medicine Buddha, and tomorrow they will begin work on the base.
The mandala dedicated to the Medicine Buddha grants health and well-being to all sentient beings wherever it is built. During these days it is important to cultivate a wholesome motivation and to offer all prayers for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Dear faithful, tomorrow morning the monks will perform the “Chasum” ritual, a very powerful ritual aimed at removing obstacles and illnesses caused by various kinds of spirits. Literally, “Chasum” means “Three-Hour Offering.” Performing such rituals helps to pacify these beings and is also intended to remove all obstacles. It begins at 9:00 a.m.
