Cossacks of the Kalmyk district will march on Red Square on May 9.

At the Central Khurul of Kalmykia, a send-off was held for the participants of the 2021 Victory Parade. Sergeant Majors Vladimir and Yuri Zambaev, as well as senior corporal Naran Dovdunov, will take part in the Victory Parade as part of the ceremonial detachment of the All-Great Don Host.

Taking part in the solemn ceremony were the Abbot of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia, Andzha Gelung, the senior administrator of “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni,” Yonten Gelung, Archpriest of the Elista and Kalmykia Diocese Father Alexey, federal inspector of the office of the Presidential Envoy of the Russian Federation to the Southern Federal District for the republic Sergey Boyko, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Kalmykia Saglara Tyurbeeva, Chairman of the ESC Nikolay Orzaev, and pupils of the Cossack classes.

Sending off the Cossacks, the senior administrator of the khurul, Yonten Gelung, reminded them of the martial feats and glorious military traditions of their ancestors. “According to ancient tradition, when warriors went off to war, the clergy always blessed them. Today we too wish to bless you and present you with ‘bu,’ which will protect you and give you strength in all good deeds,” added the Senior Administrator.
