“Eezhin keln - enkr zoor.” The Central Khurul Sums Up the Children’s Contest
A true celebration of the Kalmyk language. Today, within the walls of the Central Khurul, the results of the city contest “Eezhin keln- enkr zoor” were summed up. More than 80 children aged 5-6 from 30 preschool institutions of the capital took part in it.
The day before, the participants of the already beloved contest, organized by the Education Department of the Administration of the city of Elista and the main Buddhist temple of Kalmykia, presented their performances to the contest commission in various categories. The children showed their skill in the genres of Kalmyk folklore, poetry, and even theatrical art. Today the finale took place, and the audience was able to see the best performances of this contest. The native tongue flowed from the stage: yöräl, shavash, magtal, khalmg shülg - those gathered met each participant with stormy ovations.
As the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choydak, noted, such events are very important for the rising generation. “I am endlessly glad to see such talented children today, who love their culture, their language, their people, their traditions. I especially want to thank the teachers and parents for such a contribution to our young generation. The work you carry out, your support, will certainly bring results in the study of the native Kalmyk language,” the Shajin Lama emphasized.
Each participant, as in previous years, was recognized with Certificates of Honor and personally received a blessing from the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, and the winners and prize-winners of the contest received valuable prizes from the Monastic Sangha. The celebration was a great success!
