Fire-tactical exercises were held at the Central Khurul of Kalmykia

According to the scenario, a fire broke out in the prayer hall, heavy smoke developed, and there was a threat of it spreading to neighboring buildings. As part of the exercise, the personnel of the fire and rescue units practiced firefighting operations, the sources of fire-fighting water supply were checked, and the structural features and layout of the building were studied.

According to the senior administrator of the Central Khurul “Burkhn Bagshin Altn süm”, Yonten Gelong, the administration of the khurul takes care of the safety of parishioners and guests of the “Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni”. “More than 200 smoke detectors are installed in the khurul; in the event of a fire hazard, a signal is sent to the control panel of the fire station. All fire exits are in proper condition and are checked  several times a year,” Yonten Gelong noted.
