The monks of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” blessed the newly elected ataman of the Kalmyk Cossack District of the Great Don Cossack Host, Alexey Andreev. In the presence of believers and Cossacks, the senior administrator of the khurul, Yonten Gelung, congratulated Alexey Andreev, ataman of the Kalmyk Cossack District of the Great Don Cossack Host, on his election and wished him success in his service for the glory of Russia and Kalmykia. Yonten Gelung also noted the uniqueness of the Kalmyk Cossacks, since the Kalmyk Cossacks remained faithful to the faith of their ancestors, staying Buddhists, heroically defending their Fatherland and their native faith.
