Fruitful working meetings…

The creation of an All-Russian digital Buddhist platform that will include television and an internet portal. The senior administrator of the Central Khurul, Yonten-Gelung, presented such a project at the round table “Buddhism in Russia - 2022: modern practices of state-confessional relations”, which took place these days in Moscow.
It was attended by representatives of all Buddhist regions of our country - Kalmykia, Buryatia, Tuva, Zabaykalsky Krai, the Altai Republic, as well as Buddhists of St. Petersburg. Everyone spoke about projects for developing the religion. The conversation turned out to be very fruitful and interesting.

Also on the agenda of the working trip of the representative of the Kalmyk clergy, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Yonten-Gelung (Sergey Kirishov), was participation in one of the sections organized within the framework of the All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Russia: Unity and Diversity”, held these days in Moscow. Participants in the dialogue spoke about the interaction between the state and society, as well as the role of interethnic, national, and youth public associations
in the implementation of state national policy. The mechanisms and practice of interaction between public authorities and civil society institutions in strengthening all-Russian civic unity were analyzed.

In his speech, Yonten-Gelung noted that religious organizations by their very nature implement national policy, even despite the fact that many clergymen have not even seen the document on the strategy of state national policy. “Religion is not only prayers. The scope of activity of religious organizations also includes the preservation of traditional spiritual and moral values, the harmonization of interethnic and interreligious relations, questions of morality in society, the preservation and development of one's native language and culture, love for one's native land, and, of course, the unity of the people”, - Yonten-Gelung especially noted in his report.

Also within the framework of this conference, at a section devoted to the preservation of Russia's ethno-cultural and linguistic diversity, the assistant to the member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Yonten-Gelung, adviser to the head of Kalmykia, Gennady Korneev, gave a report: “The preservation and development of the languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation as the most important factor in forming the cultural immunity of society”.

Despite his busy work schedule, during these same days Yonten-Gelung also took part in the first international scientific conference, held at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences - “Nomads of Eurasia: socio-cultural dynamics and influence on historical processes”.
In his speech at this event, Yonten-Gelung spoke in detail about the history of Kalmyk Buddhism.

After his fruitful work in Moscow, he set off for Nepal on a mission. We will tell you about this a little later.
