On December 18, the Central Khurul Will Hold the Grand Festive Prayer Service “A Thousand Offerings to Lama Tsongkhapa”

On the day the national holiday Zul is celebrated, the main Buddhist temple of Kalmykia will hold the grand festive prayer service “A Thousand Offerings to Lama Tsongkhapa,” beginning at 9:00. After the first session of the festive prayer service concludes, and in keeping with the established tradition, all the faithful will be treated to hot Kalmyk tea and fragrant bortsoki on the square in front of the khurul. Then, from 12:00 to 14:00, those who wish may attend a lecture on “The Three Principal Aspects of the Path,” authored by Lama Tsongkhapa, delivered by Geshe Lharampa Tenzin Thinley. At 15:00 the second session of the festive prayer service will begin. Upon its conclusion, at 16:30, a circumambulation of the khurul will begin, with the recitation of the Migtsema mantra and the lighting of butter lamps.
