Gratitude to Our Teacher

“I thank each of you, everyone who over all these 30 years has helped in our holy cause, who has invested a part of themselves…” - with these words Telo Tulku Rinpoche addressed the faithful the day before during a live broadcast.

Yesterday, the regular meeting of the “Manjushri” club was held in the library of the Central Khurul. Kalmyk scholars, people of art and culture, public figures, and representatives of the Buddhist center “Tilopa” had the opportunity to directly congratulate Telo Tulku Rinpoche on the 30th anniversary of his election to the post of Shajin Lama of Kalmykia.

They recalled the II Extraordinary Conference of the Buddhists of Kalmykia and Astrakhan Region in 1992, at which Rinpoche-la was elected. They recalled how, with small but confident steps, the revival of the spiritual faith of the Kalmyk people proceeded, how Buddhist temples and religious sites were built, and how much was accomplished over these 30 years.

Telo Tulku Rinpoche himself considers the creation of a full-fledged, “pure” monastic sangha to be his main achievement over these years. It is gratifying that the Kalmyk clergy continues to grow and strengthen.

Through the online broadcast, the participants of the meeting expressed, on behalf of the entire Kalmyk people, Gratitude to our Teacher for his efforts in the cause of developing Buddhism, for his enlightening work and his kindness!
