“Hazr Täklhn” ahead of Urs Sar
Exactly one week from now, on May 24, the monks of the Central Khurul will conduct the traditional “hazr täklhn” rite at the Lonely Poplar. For 10 years now, it has been held annually ahead of the sacred month of Urs Sar, which this year will begin on May 28. During the rite of worshipping the earth, an offering is made to all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Protectors of the Teaching and other holy beings. The monks, led by the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Geshe Tenzin Choydak, will offer their prayers for the peace, happiness and well-being of all living beings. The rite will begin at 10:00.
You can reach the grounds of the Lonely Poplar by your own transport or take the city buses, which will depart from the western parking lot of the khurul, on the side of Ilyumzhinov Street, starting at 7:30 in the morning.
During such rituals it is very important to generate a virtuous motivation within oneself. Simply by taking part in such rituals, reciting mantras and offering prayers for all living beings, every participant of the rite will accumulate merit, and this will surely bring immense benefit to all.
