Head of the Central Khurul Administration Yonten-gelung Takes Part in the World Buddhist Summit


The head of the administration of the Central Khurul Yonten-gelung is taking part in the World Buddhist Summit in India, in New Delhi.

The day before, a grand opening took place there, in which the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi took part. More than 170 delegates from 30 countries of the world arrived at this large international event, among them prominent Buddhist monks, scholars, ambassadors, and diplomats. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is also taking part in the summit.

The theme of the two-day summit is “Responses to Contemporary Challenges: From Philosophy to Practice”. “During the summit, various discussions are being held on questions of peace, the environment, morality, health, and sustainable development. Special exhibitions will be organized. A very rich and packed working program,” Yonten-gelung related in a telephone conversation.

The Doctor of Historical Sciences Batr Uchaevich Kitinov is also taking part in the work of the summit.
