His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Father Laurence Freeman. Live Broadcast. One Consciousness: One Mind and One Heart

On December 1, 2021, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will hold the dialogue “One Consciousness: One Mind and One Heart” with Father Laurence Freeman, founder and teacher of the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM). His Holiness will also answer questions from the participants of the video conference.

Fr. Laurence Freeman is a Catholic Benedictine monk, director of the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM), a disciple of the popularizer of contemplative spirituality, the Benedictine Fr. John Main, and the author of books devoted to Christian contemplative prayer. Fr. Laurence Freeman draws the attention of the international community to contemporary Christian spirituality, mysticism, and the practice of Christian contemplative prayer — meditation — and also provides support to numerous Christian communities engaged in restoring contemplation in the everyday spiritual dimension of life. Fr. Laurence Freeman takes an active part in many interreligious dialogue initiatives, among them the historic “Way of Peace” with H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of the Buddhist regions of the Russian Federation (Kalmykia, Buryatia, Transbaikalia and Tuva), Mongolia, Tibet and other regions where Tibetan Buddhism has spread. He often repeats that in his present incarnation he has three principal commitments: to explain to people the importance of universal human values and secular ethics, to foster harmony among representatives of different faiths, and to help the Tibetan people in their striving to preserve their identity, culture and religion. In addition, His Holiness the Dalai Lama recently took on a fourth commitment — to foster an understanding of the value of ancient Indian knowledge about consciousness, emotions and the nature of reality, since he is convinced that it is highly relevant to the modern world and can be taught and disseminated in a secular context, without reliance on religion. Everyone who feels close to the ideas of humanism, non-violence and compassion will certainly find support and inspiration in the daily work of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Approximate time of the broadcast: 6:30–7:30 a.m. (Moscow time).

The live broadcast from Dharamsala will be accompanied by simultaneous translation into Russian.

When watching the broadcast, we earnestly ask viewers to observe the social distancing recommended in their countries of residence.
