In Dialogue with the Youth

The other day, Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Geshe Tenzin Choydak met with activists from the youth associations of our republic. The theme of the meeting was a discussion of creating a volunteer corps for the III International Buddhist Forum, which will take place in Kalmykia in 2025.

First and foremost, of course, it was noted just how large and significant an event is coming to our republic. And it is precisely upon the shoulders of the volunteer corps that many tasks will fall. “It is important to take a comprehensive approach to organizing this event, to perform at 100 percent. The overall impression will be shaped even by small details. Guests will come from countries where Buddhism has been practiced for more than two thousand years, where people live by it and are guided by it in their lives, so it is important to know the history and cultures of the country and to treat guests with respect,” the Shajin Lama explained, addressing the youth.

The participants of the meeting asked the questions that concerned them. These touched on Buddhism in general, mainly the fundamentals of Buddhism; they were interested in the Kalmyk language courses at the Central Khurul, and discussed the upcoming forum.

By the way, those wishing to join the volunteers can do so by registering on the website добро.рф via the link
