Kalmyk State University to Train Specialists in Oriental Studies and Buddhology

Kalmyk State University will train specialists in Oriental studies and Buddhology.

This year, enrollment for the 1st year in this field is planned. This became possible  thanks to a grant won from the Foundation for the Promotion of Buddhist Education and Research. Faculty members of the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at KalmSU have developed a unique educational program that possesses undeniable relevance and value in terms of training professional Orientalists-Buddhologists with a deep knowledge of traditional and contemporary Buddhism and Eastern languages.

Buddhist clergy and leaders of Buddhist communities may apply for subsidized places from the Foundation for the Promotion of Buddhist Education and Research. Anyone interested may also become a student of this “Buddhology” program.
