Kalmykia celebrated the Day of Buddha's Descent from the Heaven of the 33 Deities

Today, all over the world, Buddhists offer up their praising prayers to Buddha Shakyamuni, his deeds, and his Teaching. For today believers celebrate one of the special sacred holidays - the Day of Buddha's Descent from the Heaven of the 33 Deities.

From early morning, festive events began in the main temple of Kalmykia. Before the start of the solemn service, the senior administrator of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia, Yonten-Gelung, spoke about the holiday itself, its significance, and how important it is on such days - “düütsng” - to devote oneself to spiritual practice.
