Kalmykia’s Main Buddhist Temple to Open Enrollment for Novices (Mandzhi)

In two weeks, Kalmykia’s main Buddhist temple will open enrollment for novices (mandzhi). The training will take place at the Central Khurul over a period of 2 years. Young people aged 16 to 30, natives of Kalmykia who show sincere interest and a desire to study Buddhist philosophy, are invited to apply.

Candidates for mandzhi are admitted to the training process after passing a special interview with representatives of the khurul’s administration. It is also necessary to provide the following documents:

✅An application addressed to the abbot of the Central Khurul (filled out by hand when submitting the documents)

✅A copy of the document certifying identity and citizenship (passport)

✅A copy of the document confirming previously received education (school certificate or diploma)

✅A medical certificate in form 086/у

✅Two photographs of size 3х4 (without headwear)
