Kundeling Rinpoche Bestowed the Long-Life Empowerment through the Deity White Tara

“Always strive to accumulate virtue, purify your mind, and remember that we have been granted a precious human body, which means we have countless opportunities to practice the Dharma,” with this profound thought the Venerable Kundeling Rinpoche began his meeting with the faithful of Kalmykia. The day before, he had bestowed the Empowerment of White Tara at the Central Khurul. As the Teacher noted, White Tara is an excellent deity of longevity who helps remove any obstacles.

Kundeling Rinpoche explained in detail the parts that make up the Empowerment itself, and explained how to address White Tara, visualizing her and asking for longevity for all living beings. However, it is important to understand the main meaning of the request for longevity as well. “We need to remove all the obstacles that arise in our lives, the various unfavorable conditions, so that we can engage in spiritual practice for as long as possible, bringing benefit and good to ourselves and others,” Rinpoche noted.

The conversation about what matters lasted for 3.5 hours. Special attention was also paid to the topic of training and taming the mind. Curbing one’s anger, rage, and afflictive emotions is painstaking, daily work, but it is within everyone’s reach.

Also on this day, the faithful were given a drink and pills of long life, which had been consecrated during the ritual.
