A Long-Life Puja for Telo Tulku Rinpoche Will Take Place in Mongolia
On October 27, a Long-Life Puja for the Supreme Lama of Kalmykia, Telo Tulku Rinpoche, will take place in Ulaanbaatar. On the initiative of the Central Khurul and the Buddhist center “Tilopa,” it was proposed to hold this special ritual in the historical homeland of Telo Rinpoche’s previous incarnation (Dilova Khutugt) — in Mongolia.
These days a delegation from Kalmykia headed by Andzha-gelung is there, discussing all the details of the upcoming Puja. As Andzha-gelung noted, they have already met with the Head of the central Buddhist monastery of Mongolia, Khambo Nomin Khan Demberelijn Choyjamts, who received the proposal of the Kalmyk delegation with great joy. He noted that this important ritual will be held in the main hall of Gandan Monastery, with the support of the local monastic Sangha. The audience also touched on cooperation between the Buddhists of Kalmykia and Mongolia.
The delegation from the Republic of Kalmykia held a number of meetings with representatives of the Zavkhan and Govi-Altai aimags, as well as with staff of the Dilova Khutugt foundation. Together they met
with Naro Panchen Khutugt — in a past incarnation a disciple of Dilova Khutugt, requesting him to lead the Long-Life Puja, to which he agreed.
“Now all the organizational aspects of the Puja have been determined; we will take up the preparatory part, and this is a very important process,” Andzha-gelung noted, concluding our conversation.
Dear fellow countrymen, all who wish to take part in offering the Long-Life
