The Lunar Calendar for the Upcoming Year 2026 Has Been Released
The lunar calendar for the coming year 2026 is already on sale. As is tradition, it has been produced in a wall format. Its compiler is a monk of the Central Khurul, the venerable Andzha Gelung.
As before, the calendar lists all the important dates of Kalmyk and all Buddhist holidays, sets out the lunar days indicating favorable and unfavorable days, and marks the dates of the Buddhist fasts (matsg ödr).
As many have already noticed, each year the main image in the calendar is dedicated to the great scholars of antiquity. This time it depicts Acharya Aryadeva, an outstanding Indian philosopher, one of the 17 pandits of the legendary Nalanda University.
