Ahead of Tsagan Sar, major rituals will take place at the Central Khurul
To remove obstacles, negativity and ailments and, of course, to appeal to all the Burkhans with a request to grant a happy life to all sentient beings. All this is carried out every year, ahead of the national holiday of Tsagan Sar, at the main Buddhist temple of Kalmykia. As in previous years, the monks will perform the “Kangso” ritual and the special “Hurvn Hüv” rite. They will take place on February 27.
From 9:00 in the morning, the monks together with the faithful will recite praises to all the Säküsn and make offerings to them. On this day, which falls on the 29th lunar day, it is important to offer the golden drink Serdzhm to all the Protectors of the Teaching. And at 13:00 the “Hurvn Hüv” rite will begin. Dear faithful, there is no need to bring dough from home for it — the dough specially prepared by the monks will be handed out to you at the khurul.
And on the following day, February 28, all of Kalmykia will celebrate the long-awaited national holiday of Tsagan Sar, the holiday of the coming of spring, the holiday of renewal and purification.
Since February 28 falls on a Friday, on this day the monks of the Central Khurul will also hold a prayer service for the deceased — “Yöräl.” It begins at 14:00.
