May the Light of This Celebration Warm Hearts for Many Days to Come
Following a long-standing good tradition, each year on the Dalai Lama's birthday the monks of the Central Khurul visit the republic's social institutions to show care and support to those in their charge and, of course, to treat them to a delicious cake. First — to Tselinny, then — to the Elista residential care home for the elderly and disabled. They also looked in at the children's psychoneurological residential home — the place where every gesture of attention resonates especially deeply. And they even managed to stop by the children's camp at Kalmyk State University: for the kids, the sweet treats became a little celebration amid ordinary days. The evening program on the city square was a natural continuation of the day: a concert by creative ensembles and beloved performers brought the city's residents together, while festive cakes and ice cream gave joy to grown-ups and children alike. May the light of this celebration warm hearts for many days to come!
