A Medicine Buddha Sand Mandala Was Built in the Village of Tsagan Aman, Yustinsky District

For several days, the construction of a Medicine Buddha sand mandala took place in the village of Tsagan Aman. A delegation of monks from Drepung Gomang Monastery, led by the Venerable Geshe Lharampa Tenzin Sangpo Rinpoche, performed special rituals daily for prolonging life and removing obstacles, and together with the faithful appealed to the Deities with requests for the well-being of all sentient beings. They also held daily lectures on the fundamentals of Buddhism for the residents of Yustinsky District.

This morning, having performed a special rite of consecrating the Buddhist sacred object, the monks dismantled the mandala they had built. This act is meant to emphasize one of the most important tenets of Buddhism: the impermanence and transience of all that exists.

Later today, the delegation from India will depart for the town of Lagan, where the construction of the Long-Life Buddha mandala will begin tomorrow.
