The monks performed the ritual “Bilgin zürknä üüdnäs shulms härülkh yosn” (shernin dudok) and began the construction of the sand mandala of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion.
Today, at the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni,” the ritual “Bilgin zürknä üüdnäs shulms härülkh yosn” (shernin dudok) was held, and at the conclusion of the ritual the monks began the construction of the sand mandala of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. The construction of the mandala will continue until March 8; throughout the day on March 9 the completed mandala can be viewed, and on March 10 the ritual of the mandala's dissolution will take place. Part of the sand from the mandala will be distributed to all who wish to receive it.
