The Musical Offering to the Three Jewels Will Be Held in Elista on September 21

The sixth Musical Offering to the Three Jewels will be held on September 21 in Elista. This grand event in the cultural and religious life of our republic became the subject of a conversation between the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choydak, and Savr Kataev, the chief conductor and one of the organizers of this event.

They discussed all the working aspects of holding the large-scale event. As Savr Vyacheslavovich noted, the number of those wishing to take part in the Offering, as in previous years, is enormous. These are both children and adults who can play national instruments. Of course, professional ensembles of our republic and students of music schools will also take part in the combined large Orchestra.

“It is gratifying that we have such a large project, uniting people of different ages, which not only carries moral guidance but also serves to popularize national musical instruments, to promote national culture and Buddhist spiritual music. And this next musical Offering

through its art to the great Buddha, his Teaching (the Dharma) and the noble Sangha will surely be for the benefit of all living beings,” noted Geshe Tenzin Choydak.

The meeting also discussed holding the Musical Offering next year. It is planned for the days of the Buddhist Forum in Kalmykia. It is expected that more than 1000 musicians of the republic will take part in it
