“Musical Offering to the Three Jewels” to Take Place on May 17

The next Musical Offering to the Three Jewels will take place on May 17.

This was announced the day before, during a meeting of the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choydak, with the chief conductor and one of the organizers of this event, Savr Kataev. The date was not chosen by chance. One of the most sacred months for all Buddhists of the world — Urs Sar — falls precisely on May 17. On this special day, the musicians of Kalmykia will once again gather to make a musical offering to the Great Buddha, his Teaching, and the venerable Sangha.

During the conversation, the Supreme Lama expressed his sincere gratitude to Savr Kataev for his invaluable contribution to the development of the region's spiritual culture. He noted that the “Musical Offering” plays a special role in the upbringing of the rising generation. “The project not only awakens interest in folk instruments and inspires young people to learn music, but also introduces residents of different ages to spiritual music, Buddhist traditions, and prayers: people begin to listen to them, understand them, and even learn them — not out of obligation, but at the call of the soul. Let us together cherish what makes us stronger — our history, culture, religion, and the wisdom of our ancestors,” Geshe Tenzin Choydak especially emphasized.

The repertoire, which will certainly be updated, was discussed. And in the near future, the preparatory process for carrying out the next Musical Offering to the Three Jewels will begin.
