They Offered Their Creation to the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha
The musicians of Kalmykia made a creative Offering to the Great Buddha, his Teaching, and the venerable Monastic Sangha. The day before, on the grounds of the Central Khurul, several hundred musicians and vocalists performed spiritual and national works in a single impulse. In the program of the performance, fragments of the heroic epic “Jangar,” Buddhist mantras in the ancient Pali language, and Kalmyk dombra tunes were woven together into one. Everyone present that day felt a truly bright sense of faith in the best, faith that this Offering was for the benefit of all living beings.
As Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Geshe Tenzin Choydak noted, such events bring us closer together, bringing together people of different generations. “Having come here with pure, sincere faith, with the desire to bring goodness into the world and with the desire to live following moral guidelines — all of this will surely bring great buyan to each of us. It is especially important that children take part in such a good endeavor, those people who will continue to carry forward our traditional values,” the Shajin Lama said, addressing his fellow countrymen.
The Head of the region, Batu Khasikov, who was present at the Musical Offering, was also gladdened by the active participation of the young musicians, who performed worthily alongside acclaimed artists: “This is how we pass on culture, this is how we pass on all our knowledge about the people, about the Buddhist Teaching; it inspires and uplifts.”
The large combined Orchestra of musicians and choristers, under the direction of Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Kalmykia Savr Kataev, once again won the hearts of the residents of Kalmykia and the numerous guests of the capital. This powerful, incomparable musical spectacle will long remain in the memory not only of the project participants but also of the audience. Next year it is planned to hold it on an even grander and more majestic scale. Tiigtkhä!🙏🙏🙏
