On the Home Stretch…
This weekend, participants of the courses on the Kalmyk language and the fundamentals of Buddhism took their final exams at the Central Khurul. The two-month stage of study has come to an end. Around 30 participants reached the home stretch.
On the first day, the students recited Tarni (mantras) and drew examination tickets on the Kalmyk language; on the next day, they demonstrated their knowledge of the fundamentals of Buddhism.
Galina Kanaeva was waiting for her granddaughter Elina. She came to support her on such an important day. “We are glad that our young people have this opportunity to study their native language while also gaining important knowledge of the fundamentals of Buddhism. Now the main thing is to put it to use in life. I always try to speak Kalmyk with my granddaughter at home. I hope all of this together will yield good results,” Galina Marchikovna is confident.
Today, August 23, the results of the completed two-month journey will be announced.
As a reminder, the top 7 participants of these courses, who scored the highest number of points, will receive valuable prizes: an iPhone 13 for first place, and iPhone 12s for the other 6 people.
