One Week Until a Grand Event in the Cultural and Religious Life of Our Republic
One week remains until a grand event in the cultural and religious life of our republic.
We remind you that on May 21 a large combined orchestra, which will include almost 1000 musicians from all over Kalmykia, will make a musical offering to the Three Jewels — the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. This will already be the fifth, anniversary offering.
Intensive preparations are now underway in all municipalities. Today the chief conductor of this event, Savr Kataev, visited the Yashkul district and held a master class for the participants of the musical offering. More than 30 children from this district will be part of the combined orchestra.
This project is timed to coincide with the sacred holiday of Urs Sar, which begins this year on May 20, as well as with the Birthday of Buddha Shakyamuni, which Buddhists celebrate on June 4.
The main goal of this large event is not only the accumulation of good merit — buyn — but also the popularization of national musical instruments, the promotion of national culture and Buddhist spiritual music.
We look forward to everyone who wishes to see this grand event with their own eyes on May 21, at 17:00, on the square in front of the Central Khurul.
As the head of the administration of the Central Khurul Yonten-gelung noted, despite the fact that intensive preparation of the project's participants has been underway during these 2 months, nevertheless everyone who wishes still has the opportunity to join the musical offering even now. To do so, one needs to come with one's musical instrument to the dress rehearsal, which will take place on May 20, at 14:00, on the territory of the main Buddhist temple.
