Pilgrimage to the holy sites of the Iki-Burulsky District

The Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche, together with devout Buddhists, made a pilgrimage to the holy sites of the Iki-Burulsky District of Kalmykia.

In the village of Dzhedzhekiny — the birthplace of the Shajin Lama, at the place where the Stupa of Enlightenment was built, an extensive Tsog ritual was performed based on the text “Lama Chopa — Offering to the Teacher,” as well as the ritual “gazr täklgn”; together with Gen Ngawang Lodoy, offerings were made to the Three Jewels, to all holy beings, to all Protectors of the Teaching, to the deities of the locality, and to the 6 classes of beings of samsara. In the village of Kevyudy, Rinpoche visited the prayer house, bestowed instructions, and together with the faithful read prayers for the removal of obstacles and for the happiness and well-being of all living beings.

In the village of Khomutnikovsky, near the süme of Green Tara, the Shajin Lama, together with Andzha Gelung, Gen Jamyang, and Gen Chopel, after transmitting instructions and planting trees, conducted an extended Nogan Därk ritual and also performed the ritual of offering to all Protectors — Säküsnäm — and to the deities of the locality, “Sangsol.” Then, together with the faithful, Rinpoche visited the stupa of Shar emch, the stupa of Uladzha bagshi, the site of Dharamsala, where the famous Mandzhikinsky khurul “Tashi Donrob” was located, as well as Mount Shared. At all these holy places with a rich history, special prayers and mantras were read, offerings were made, and ki-mörn flags of fortune were hung up.

Next, the pilgrims, under the guidance of Telo Tulku Rinpoche, visited the village of Primanych, where the Shajin Lama performed several rituals for the residents of the village, including the “ransom of life” ritual to increase the lifespan and to cast off various obstacles and difficulties. To conclude his trip, Rinpoche visited the khurul in the village of Baga-Burul, where, together with the monks of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia, he bestowed a blessing upon all present, performed extensive rituals of removing obstacles and of summoning fortune and well-being for all residents of the Iki-Burulsky District, and texts from the Kangyur and Tengyur collection were read. Throughout the pilgrimage the lay faithful recited hundreds of thousands of mantras of Green Tara and mantras of other deities, and the “Sutra of Golden Light,” the “Heart Sutra of the Prajnaparamita,” and other Buddhist texts were read. In the village of Baga-Burul the pilgrims made a general dedication of merit. All the accumulated merit (buyn) and virtues were dedicated to the happiness and prosperity of all living beings without exception. Thus concluded the first pilgrimage to the holy sites of the Iki-Burulsky District, led by the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche.
