Pilgrims from Kalmykia returned home after the Dalai Lama's Teaching in India. His Holiness gave teachings on Nagarjuna's work “Commentary on Bodhichitta.”

Thousands of the faithful from all over the world arrived in Bodh Gaya to see the Great Teacher with their own eyes. One of them is Elista resident Valentina Erdnieva. She attended such an important spiritual event for the first time. “These few days in India flew by unnoticed. Every day was filled with such powerful energy. The meeting with His Holiness, the simplicity with which he presents his teachings, the kind and warm atmosphere — could not leave anyone indifferent. I know that I will not be the same as I was before the teachings; our Spiritual Leader gave a new impetus toward self-improvement. I was deeply moved by his words that by creating benefit for those around you, you create benefit for yourself,” our fellow countrywoman shared her impressions. She also spoke about the daily visits to holy places. The Mahabodhi temple complex, erected at the place where Buddha Shakyamuni attained full awakening, left especially vivid impressions.

By the way, the group of pilgrims from Kalmykia, which numbered almost 100 people, managed to visit holy places before the start of the Teachings: Varanasi, Sarnath, Shravasti, Kushinagar, Vaishali. On the trip they were accompanied by the monks of the Central Khurul. “The lectures given during our journey by Sanal-Gelung Mukubenov, who answered all our questions very thoroughly, were especially valuable to us,” the pilgrims who returned from the teachings note with gratitude.

Their participation in the great prayer service held by the monks of Drepung Gomang in the cave of Mahakala was also very memorable for them.

After the three-day teachings of His Holiness, the faithful who had arrived offered the Dalai Lama a long-life prayer service.

This trip became very significant and a kind of true blessing for each of them. It has already become known that the spiritual leader's next teachings will take place in Dharamsala, in early March of this year.
