Praising the Three Jewels. Ik Yöräl continues in Kalmykia

Today the great prayer assembly at the Central Khurul of Kalmykia continued. A large number of believers also took part in the second day of Ik Yöräl (Monlam Chenmo), among whom it was gratifying to see many young people.

On these special days of “Ik Yöräl,” in addition to the usual daily prayers, the monks recite prayers praising the Three Jewels: Buddha Shakyamuni, his Teaching, and the Buddhist Sangha, thereby establishing a strong connection and receiving blessings.

Given that today is Friday, the second half of the prayer service was dedicated to all the departed. Those gathered offered up their prayers and made offerings, asking for a better rebirth for those who have passed on.

And tomorrow, on the 15th lunar day, the celebration of the “Day of Buddha Shakyamuni’s Display of Miraculous Powers” will take place. It begins at 9:00 a.m.
