On August 21 and 29, a Prayer Service for Schoolchildren and Students Will Be Held at the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni”
On the eve of the new academic year, the Central Khurul of Kalmykia “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni” will hold a traditional prayer service dedicated to Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom. In the main prayer hall of the Central Khurul of Kalmykia, the monks will perform rituals aimed at removing mental obscurations and obstacles in learning. It is believed that intensive study is very beneficial for the young; it is no coincidence that on thangkas Buddha Manjushri is depicted as a youth of 16 years. In his right hand he holds the blazing sword of wisdom, a symbol of the severing of ignorance, and in his left hand he holds the stem of a blossoming lotus, whose petals support the text of the “Prajnaparamita Sutra,” symbolizing the teaching of perfect wisdom. People turn to Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, for help in the rapid assimilation of knowledge, the development of memory, wit and the ability to express one's thoughts eloquently. Reciting the mantra of Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, creates virtuous karmic imprints, thanks to which one can once again attain a human birth and encounter the teaching of the Buddha. The mantra of Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom: OM ARA PATSA NA DHI. The prayer service will be held online and broadcast on the official YouTube channel “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni”. The prayer service begins at 9:00 a.m.
