Preparations for the Tantric Rituals Held at “The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni”
For several days a great deal of preparatory work was carried out. The monks of the khurul, together with volunteers, conducted a thorough cleaning of the Dugan — the large prayer hall, prepared special offerings — “torma”, set up the sites for the fire puja and other rituals, hung the thangkas, laid out the offerings, and did other preparatory work.
The annual tantric rituals will take place from October 2 to 6 inclusive. On October 2 the “Yangdrub” ritual will be held, on October 3 the “Jinseg” ritual, on October 5 the “Torgyak” ritual, and on October 6 the “Tangrak Kangso” ritual.
The rituals will be conducted under the guidance of the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Honorary Representative of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in Russia, Mongolia, and the CIS countries, Telo Tulku Rinpoche. Together with the Shajin Lama, the monks of the Central Khurul will take part in the rituals. The series of rituals will open with the “Yangdrub” ritual, during which the monks will offer a prayer to Gonkar (White Mahakala) for the prosperity and well-being of Kalmykia and all sentient beings.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all the rituals will take place online. According to the monks of the Central Khurul, the remote format will not be an obstacle for people, and they call on all believers to generate a virtuous motivation within themselves, light a lamp at home, make an offering, and pray for the benefit of all sentient beings.
All the rituals will be broadcast on the official YouTube and Instagram channels of the Central Khurul. For convenience, boxes for names and offerings will be set up at the southern gates of The Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni; everyone will also be able to send names to the email address moleben@khurul.ru, and offerings can be made via the QR code on the khurul's website.
