For the first time, relics of Buddha Shakyamuni arrive in Kalmykia from India
We are glad to inform you, dear believers, that tomorrow, on October 11, the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni arrive in Kalmykia from India for the first time. On this day the Central Khurul will be closed to visitors. But starting from October 12 it will already be possible to behold the relics.
We remind you that these artifacts are connected with the Buddha himself; they were discovered in 1898 in Piprahwa, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, in a stupa that belonged to the Shakya clan. This is a truly historic event for all of us, carrying great value for every believer.
The exhibition of the relics itself will be located in the large prayer hall of the khurul, from October 12 through October 18 inclusive. Below we provide the date and time when believers and guests of the republic may visit it.
October 12: from 7.00 to 9.00, from 13.00 to 18.00.
October 13: from 7.00 to 9.00, from 11.00 to 18.00
October 14: from 7.00 to 9.00, from 11.00 to 18.00.
October 15: from 7.00 to 9.00, from 11.00 to 18.00.
October 16: from 7.00 to 9.00, from 11.00 to 18.00.
October 17: from 7.00 to 9.00, from 11.00 to 13.30, from 16.00 to 18.00.
October 18: from 7.00 to 9.00, from 11:00 to 18:00.
