President of the country Vladimir Putin congratulated all Buddhists of Russia on the start of the White Month.

“This ancient holiday, which has come down through the ages, symbolizes the awakening of nature and people’s striving for purity of thought and deed. It unites the peoples who profess Buddhism around traditional values and their distinctive spiritual and cultural foundations,” reads the congratulatory address of the Head of State. Vladimir Putin noted that Russia’s Buddhist organizations take an active part in the life of the country, giving particular attention to harmonizing interreligious and interethnic dialogue and to strengthening peace and accord in society. He wished everyone happiness and well-being.
