Säküsnä Ödr — The Day of the Protectors of the Teaching
Tomorrow, January 10, Wednesday, is the 29th lunar day according to the lunar calendar — the Day of the Protectors of the Dharma. On this day, the “Kangso” ritual is performed at the Central Khurul, the ritual of addressing our Säküsns.
On this day the monks offer their prayers of praise, propitiation, and offering to the Protector deities — Mahakala, Okon Tengri, Nomin Khan, Bayn Namsr — so that they may continue to help people rid themselves of suffering, illness, and obstacles, and grant happiness and well-being, and, of course, continue to protect the Teaching and all believers. It is precisely on this day that it is important to offer the Golden drink Serjm.
