The “Sangsol” Ritual Was Held in the Yashkul District

Cleansing from negativity, attracting good fortune and health, and, of course, expressing gratitude to all the elements and forces. All of this took place in the Yashkul District during the traditional “Sangsol” ritual. It was performed by the monks of the Central Khurul, led by the Shajin Lama of Kalmykia, Geshe Tenzin Choydak. It is very symbolic that “Sangsol” was held on the eve of the sacred month of Urs Sar, which this year begins on May 17.

“It is necessary to prepare for this important period, for the arrival of the most sacred month for all Buddhists of the world. For it was in this very month that Buddha Shakyamuni was born, attained enlightenment, and passed into mahaparinirvana. Everything we do during this period will be multiplied a thousandfold, so try to perform as many virtuous deeds as possible, try to recite mantras more often and help all sentient beings,” Geshe Tenzin Choydak said, addressing the faithful.

The “Sangsol” ritual that was performed, for everyone who attended it, was like a prayer embodied in the smoke of incense, which cleanses, protects, and fills the space with light. Raising prayers together with the monks, the faithful asked the Burkhans for their grace, for good fortune and peace in the home of each person, and for the well-being of all sentient beings.
