The Shajin Lama of Kalmykia Met with Members of the English Language Enthusiasts’ Club
The meeting took place in an informal atmosphere, during which the young people asked questions of interest to them. Many questions concerned Buddhism, philosophy, and various situations from life. Rinpoche also asked the participants of the meeting about their interest in the English language, what young people are currently reading and listening to, and what their interests and views on life are.
According to the organizer of the meeting, Ochir Buvaev, the young people meet regularly and discuss certain topics, thereby practicing conversational English, but this meeting can be called a special one. “For us, a meeting with the Head of the Buddhists of Kalmykia is not only an opportunity to get to know him personally, to receive a blessing, or to improve our level of English, but also a good opportunity to enrich our store of knowledge about philosophy, Buddhism, its features and nuances. Thank you to him for such an opportunity.”
In conclusion, the young people proposed making such meetings regular, to which Telo Tulku Rinpoche responded positively. “Of course! Invite me, I am always open to dialogue. Let’s think over how and when we will meet with you next time.”
